>AJ is correct, Greg, though a short frenulum can be fixed by an operation just on it, or, if there is phimosis as well, then the most efficient and practical thing to do is a circumcision with a correction of the short frenulum. Your problem is very common amongst the uncircumcised and most men simply do not see any one about it, putting up with a very fixable problem because they are embarrassed to see a doctor of discuss it with parents or friends. You will no doubt be advised to stretch and pull, rub on creams (which carry the risk of increasing your chances of getting balanitis as well as weakening the skin itself leading to increased cracking and scarring. This is really a slippery slope into an ineffectual course that might, note, might, partialy improve things but as noted elsewhere in these answers, it is not the best. Thos who would advise you to live with a lifelong problem, have an agenda of their own and it isn't your best interests they are seeking. If you read a post where either your intellect is praised (or someone else's), pause for a moment and move on, as any response should not include editorial comment about someone's 'sanity' for example.
I will leave an email address, if you wish to ask any questions privately: MD2426-aol.com On the issue of anesthesia, usually it is done under local and it is painless once you feel the first sting of the local which is a warm biting feeling, much like a mosquito bite. After that, it's nothing. You could have a general or even spinal but there is no need to: it adds risks and is not needed.
