The swelling after one week is not abnormal. It should resorb itself gradually over the next week. (swelling is usually accompanied by discolouration). You'll have to better describe your inflamation though. Was this something which existed prior to the circumcision ?

The scar takes longer to fully heal and become elastic. During this time, you can get mild case of phimosis if your circumcision is too loose (placing scar closer to edge of glans, allowing scar to heal in a narrower diameter which thus requires more stretching to accomodate retracting over rim of head.

Try to leave the foreskin retracted as much as possible. You can also try vitamin E oil. (concentrated vitamin E) which you run into the scar once or twice a day.

If your scar is closer to the edge of gland than to the rim, you need to exercise your remaining foreskin a lot during the first few months. After that, it will be problem free.

How much of your glans remains covered/exposed while flacid now ?

What was the reason for your circumcision ?
