>hey guys, i got my circ done yesterday, finally. I'll post in details a log of all the process/post-circ healing, etc later today. It's been really tough so far.
>My concern right now is with the bandaging job they did. It's very tight, thick, and i don't know how to remove it, unless i want to pull the whole thing off together, which would be suicide. I don't see any "tape tip" or something that I could start with by pulling it, and there's some blood under, I'm afraid it'll be sticky as well, and with the pain i've been having i don't see how i can take this thing off.
>Would taking a bath now help it? With salt? (wouldn't salt really hurt?) I am afraid of using scissors on this, and it's pretty obvious why. They asked me to remove it today, only 24 hrs after the circ, they didnt give me a replacement. Honestly, with the ultra sensitivity i have, i'd rather keep this protection for another day. Is that safe?
>I hope i am making sense, I'm high on codeineright now.
>thanksOkay, I hope this helps because I just went through over an hour with my 8 yr old removing the gauze that stuck overnight! We tried soaking it in warm water in a cup, but that was getting nowhere. We finally called ask-a-nurse, and they said to soak it in vaseline. First, scoop some vaseline onto a paper plate so you don't contaminate the whole container. Then use q-tips to kind of gob it on around the edges. Then use the q-tips to kind of roll it off - kind of roll it under the edges, fully lubed with the vaseline. Definitely make sure you're on your pain med first.
With my son, they just had gauze loosely wrapped around it. I put neosporin on a small piece of gauze and wrapped it around him, which he would take off every time he urinated, and I replaced it. I didn't think he'd sleep all night or I probably wouldn't have left it on like that last night.
Another thing I just put in another post - I put one of my panty liners in his underwear to help soak up any bleeding, and he says it feels better against the skin than just his underwear. Also the surface of the panty liner is such that it pulls the blood through so it doesn't just stick to the surface or to your skin.
