Vaseline will just delay the adaptation to its new environment. If you let it dry, you will find it much more tolerant of contact.

Meanwhile, you could try local topica anesthetic such as benzocaibne. Some of the sunburn sprays such as Solarcaine have some of the in there and it will hgelp numb your glans to some extent.

Wear tight fitting underwear (as oppose dto loose). It will reduce friction.

You can also wrap your took in toilet paper or kleenex. Again, this will protect the head while keeping it dry. But note that you will need to take bath or shower to remove it during first few days due to blood oozing from scar and solidifying inside the tissue.

Within a few days, you will find that your glans will have maracoulously begun to adapt. Expect also to see lost of "smegma", as the skin on surace of glans shed at accelerated rate during adaptation period. If your glans has never seen the light before, it is a rude awakening which woudl normally opccur gradually during childhood..
