>Hi. I'm 18 years old, going on 19, uncircumcised, and I have what I believe falls under the category of phimosis. This forum has been a HUGE help to me, I was very worried about things like hygiene and being able to have normal intercourse without a condom until I found this place. For the past 5 or 6 months I have been stretching with the technique I learned here--gripping both sides of my foreskin with my thumbs and forefingers, and stretching APART and outward. This has been helping me a lot and I've seen a lot of progress. I do this anywhere from 1-5 minutes, at least once a day. If anyone knows if doing it more (for longer periods or more times per day) would help speed up the proccess, I would gladly accept your advice on the matter. I can now retract, I believe about halfway down the head while very flaccid. Obviously I still have trouble if I'm more erect. Being able to get it back this far--actually past the front/underside part of the ridge around my glans--has brought up some old questions I've had once again.
First of all, congratulations on your progress.
I think, but I might be wrong, the more times a day is better an idea than the longer but less times. The more evenly distributed the sessions are, the better.
>1.) I presume I'll have to continue stretching to be able to retract while erect, even after I can retract normally, right? Does this become easier after I can retract while flaccid, or does it take the same amount of effort?
Well, I would guess you want to achieve retraction when erect. In that case, it should be obvious that the target girth is quite different, the fully filled glans being quite a bit bigger than the flaccid one.
In the end, both should become similarly easy.>2.) What is the best way to get my glans acclimated to being exposed and touched? Right now I am far too sensitive, I'd no sooner even brush against my exposed head than I would poke myself in the open eye.
That’s normal. With time, this sensitivity will diminish, but you can speed that up with more exposure (and thus, more rubbing). This isn’t necessary, as normally you wouldn’t and shouldn’t touch the glans without good lubrication (be it a naturally wet partner or an artificial lube).
> Should I wait to acclimate until after I can fully retract even while erect, or should I attempt this earlier?
It is better you reach a radius where you can regard retraction safe when erect.
> There is a concern of becoming stimulated and inducing paraphimosis (which sounds like one of the worst things I can imagine). And besides all that, is there a way that won't make my cringe while I'm doing it?
Hardly. The best suggestion I can give you is to use your penis and your foreskin.
>3.) Being able to pull it back farther than ever before, I have now moved into the realm of having to deal with a type of hygiene that I haven't before. I've found that I have a large amount of (for lack of a more tasteful term) "buildup". Not, like, a huge amount, just some under one side of the glans' ridge, but obviously, since I've never cleaned there before, it's built up quite a bit. So now, with this question I have to take into account both of the previous ones. Should I wait until I can fully retract to clean it, or even until I can retract while erect? Should I wait until my glans isn't so sensitive, or is there an easy way that I can clean it that won't cause me any pain? What's the best way to clean in general?
Use just water, obviously the less powerful the stream is the less discomfort/pain it will cause. Try not to use the thin, “sharp” streams of the shower head (you can try to guide the water from it with your hand and form a bigger, softer stream).
Avoid soap and similar products in this area.
Otherwise, no need to wait, but there is also no need to become overzealous about your hygiene in this part of you — that may have adverse effects.>Thanks for all your help, in the past, and hopefully in the future.
