I haven't heard of the glans actually bleeding before, though some peeling and cracking isn't that uncommon. It sounds highly unpleasant.

I'd treat the glans like a wound or graze if I were you. That means keeping it dry and clean. You might want to think about taping a bit of sterile material over it - you can buy gauze as used for bandages at any chemist. That'll protect it from wear and tear, and help to keep contamination out.
