>I'm not much of an expert on infections of that area, but I do know that almost nothing you are likely to encounter in Europe, N.Am or Oz is going to be particularly fast-growing. Everything is easier to solve when caught early, but that doesn't mean you can't give it 3-4 days before running to the GP or family doctor (this is a skin condition, not a urologic one - don't go to a urologist). In the meantime, when you wash use only clear water on the glans and under the foreskin, make sure you give it a last rinse at the end of your shower to get stray shampoo and soap off, if you can, pull the skin back while peeing to prevent spray/ backwash and to allow a little drying out (usually not necessary but germs don't like dryness and a bad one may have gotten the upper hand), and keep to your stretches (and I'm sure you aren't doing so, but I'll remind everyone it should be taut, not painful, and most certainly never even close to pulling hard enough to tear - more time rather than harder pulling aids progress best). If the condition gets noticeably worse, then re-evaluate about going to the doctor.
Thanks for the reply! The discolouration is gone now, it's looking normal again. There's always a tiny, tiny patch of red around the urethra (i.e. just normal) but what made my pulse quicken this morning when I saw this separate discolouration was that it was in a clearly defined area. Everything looks normal now on the glans, although I'll inspect it more fully in the shower tonight. (Thanks also for your other maintenance tips, which I've been following anyway.)
There has been a very slight tingling to be felt today, but I'm suspecting that this is due to:
a) my mental awareness and hyper-attention to any feelings from the area after the panic this morning!
b) slightly reddened and sensitive foreskin after masturbating this morning, when the foreskin and frenulum were placed under tension. At least, that's what I'm hoping!! I'll keep an eye on it as you suggest - hopefully I won't wake up tomorrow with the same condition!
