First up, keep doing what you are doing. His normal growth may yet solve the tight foreskin problem and the current treatment will certainly allow the tears to heal with minimal, if any, scarring. The cortisone cream is vital right now as this is the time that scarring occurs and cortisone helps prevent the fibrotic scars from forming.
Meanwhile, I would like to direct you to the following resources because neither you nor your son should be terrfied about circumcision, if that is ever to be the treatment, because it does not do any of the things that he or you are imagining. If you can inform him if it becomes necessary, of the actual advantages of being circumcised, both of you will feel better about it. Here is one mother's posting her, on May 27, 2004. The dordal slit "V" is not a pleasing looking result but it leaves all the foreskin there. You will gt more information on this, especially by going to Circlist.

In any case, circumcision might not be needed at all... Good luck and hope this helps.
