Circumcision in the UK

Seeing as my stretching hasn't been going well and I've heard some positive stories from people who've had circs (i.e. painful post-op but worth it in the long-run)I'm considering circumcision as a cure for my phimosis.

This is really for UK posters who know the procedure.

I am at Univeristy at the moment. I just finished my first year and am back at home with my parents over the Summer. The nearest hospital is quite a long way away. I'm assuming that I can get the circ done in the city where I go to Univeristy? I will have registered with the Univeristy medical centre in September (forgot to do it in my first year but will obviously do it first thing) and I'm assuming the doctor there will send me to the hospital there.

Basically, if I can, I'd like to get the circ done without telling my parents due to the hassle and embarrasment of telling them. Is this feasible?

My only thought is that the doctor at uni will say I have to have it done through my GP back at home seeing as it's my permanent address. But then, surely the point of registering at Univeristy is so that you can get treated in that area? Anyway, looks like I'll have to just ask the Univeristy about it.

I think I'll continue with the stretching through the rest of the summer and then see a doctor in setpember.

If anyone from the UK has any info about circs in the UK (what to expect, how it's done etc) then that would be great.

Thanks,

Sam
