If you're 18, then you're of legal age to choose what you want done to your body without anyone else's approval needed and the doctor won't care how you pay him, just as long as you do in a timely manner - however...

If you're living at home, having yourself cut, whilst not what's normally regarded as a major surgical procedure by the medical profession, it is cutting off part of your body that's not just a what you see as a useless flap of dangling skin. It is, of course, blood supplied and highly supplied with thousands of nerves.

I'm not trying to scare you, but even if there are no complications and minimal discomfort, you're going to be out of whack for the better part of a week. Your bits are going to let you know that they've been severely attacked and altered and unless your parents are absolutely clueless, they're going to know something has been done. Then, of course, if you have complications, mum's going to see blood in your briefs or bedding, and certainly notice disgarded dressings or your hand at your bits if you suddenly get a stiffy.

In short, you're not going to get your nails trimmed or a wart burned off, having yourself cut will involve a recooperation period that will be hard for them or anyone else, to miss.

Best of luck with whatever you decide.
