I had a similar concerns when I visited the consultant pre-surgery. The examination involved him having a look and a pull on the foreskin and the frenulum (I had a tight frenulum, too). After the examination I felt it was less embarrassing than I thought it would be. It is bizarre having your penis/foreskin touched by someone else when the context isn't sexual. The doctor was very matter-of-fact and did his business to determine the extent of the problem. The test were'nt like how you would try to retract your foreskin on your own and they certainly were not pleasurable; in fact they were quite uncomfortable. The fact that your foreskin cannot retract will be a common occurence when you see the specialist, as they would have seen this condition many times before. Btw, my examination took under a minute; about 30 seconds perhaps.
