odd meatus

i'm an uncircumcised young adult. after research i've done on this procedure i'm considering, i came upon the term meatus. in all the pictures of circumcised penises i've seen, their meatus is just like a hole, while mine has red "things" that close while i'm not urinating. it's not at all painful, i'm just concerned about the appearance of my penis after circumcision. is this red meatus common? any details would be helpful. if i wasn't clear enough on my description, please tell me and i'll do my best to give more details.
