If the wound has sealed up, then it should be immune to infection.
But what is the area like when faced with friction or pressure? Would it face damage? If you are still waiting for it to heal, it is unsure of what may happen.
It could be a bit messy, so best to have a quick check with a GP to make sure that it is okay the way it is...
