As an answer to: Please help--phimosis question (I think) written by Chris at 17 Sep 2004 07:16:47:
>Hi. I'm 17 and uncircumcised and just managed to fully pull back my foreskin while nonerect after it was explained to me by a friend. I'd really appreciate it if people would read my whole explanation and comment--I'm scared and have no idea what to do.
>Here's the thing. First of all, there's a ring of fairly tight skin below the glans that fits the descriptions on the site (it's on the lower inside part of the foreskin normally) even when flaccid. I suspect some circulation is being cut off while it is retracted because the head of the penis becomes slightly cool to the touch, maybe just room temperature, after a while. It's also a bit difficult to pull back; certainly not in danger of getting stuck, but also could never be "slid back and forth" over the head as some have described. Also, when I'm retracting it, there's a definite bulging of the part of the glans that is exposed as it tightens around the head. All of this is while nonerect.
>I've tried pulling it down while erect, and it feels tight but starts to slide down most of the glans, but I stop at this point, because I highly suspect if I let it go all the way down, which would be very difficult, it would become stuck (as long as it was erect). Alternatively, I've tried pulling it down while flaccid, then trying to get an erection, but I can't become fully erect because of the tightness of that ring of foreskin a little below the head, which is also quite painful.
>I haven't tried stretching much but when I do just by pulling it partially down over the head while erect it's rather painful, and not something I'd want to do on a regular basis (or have to maintain for my whole life!). Any comments about what exactly this condition is, what my treatment options are, or recommendations would be hugely, hugely appreciated. Thank you.
Hi Chris,I have been there . . . indeed for most of my life. I only first discovered I had a problem at arour the age of 14yrs when some guy was seeking to photograph me, and, pulled back my foreskin . . . the pain - the Hell of it ! ! !
Of course I was a young virgin who knew nothing about sex, or my body, and, knew nothing about the kind of fellow who had enticed me back to his place for what turned out to be a depraved photo shoot. That was in the late 50's and I had no one I could talk to about my experience. Suffice to say, for the next 40 plus years, I avoided attempting to draw my foreskin back. Below is a piece I wrote on another Circumcision site:
Aged 57 yrs is somewhat late in life to discover you suffer from phimosis (not being able to retract the foreskin). This is to say, I knew that I could not retract it - when erect, due to the sheer tightness of same and the very real pain involved if I tried, but I did not know it was a condition with medical terminology!
True it had caused me some concern, from time to time over the years. Whenever I tried to broach the subject with my doctor (only twice), he was quite dismissive of the matter (perhaps fortunately). However, some information on the subject would have eased the concern. Just 18 months ago, I stumbled across a website named "Norm UK" with lots of information about my problem. Here, I learned my problem was not uncommon, and, that there were probable answers to my stored questions. Importantly, I was directed to try some simple, albeit slightly uncomfortable stretching exercise. This I did, at my own pace.
Soon, the impossible was acheived, I could retract my foreskin - yes, even when erect! Whilst I cannot speak medically, I know that I have not had any problems through my disorder, other than intermitent wondering.
For me, evidently, circumcision was īnotī required, simply information and direction - for half a century!

I would suggest Chris, you contact NORM who have branches elsewhere, and they will talk you through the system, even - if required - some special creams to assist. I did the exercise for a month, and have had no problems since, which is to say for over a year.
