Had I known anything about this I might well have had an incision years ago.

You have certainly done your homework. Once the frenulum tears, depending on its actual shape, it may simply flatten out and look a lot like the results obtained from an infant circ but, more commonly, there are little skin flaps that eventually constrict down to irregular bumps. They may not look pretty but they don't cause any problems. The one situation that becomes problematic is when the tear 'rejoins' and in this case with the likelihood of repeated tearing. This leads to scarring and in some cases an inability to retract the foreskin without pain. It is best if you can keep the foreskin constantly retracted for a few days as this almost certainly stops the rejoining and in that case the problem is more or less solved. The idea is to not let the torn surfaces to come together. You might use liberal amounts of talcum powder on the glans as this reduces the ouchiness when the glans comes into contact with your clothes. Tight fitting underwear also helps a lot.

As far as mentioning the myriad of common penile problems in the uncircumcised, it has become a politically correct thing to state that the natural uncircumcised state is sheer perfection and that any problems that do occur are minor, fixable with soap and water and all is well. Nothing could be further from the truth! Note the thousands of posts here from circumcised guys asking for help with their penile problems? Says something doesn't it?
