Anon, here's some information that was relayed to me via an online aquaintance that may be useful to you on this subject:

My preference - as I am sure you would have seen - is to point out with absolute clarity that the consequence of pregnancy in his situation being so grave, his only viable course is to use *both* condom and her regular taking of the "pill" - from a doctor, who will (generally) care little about her age. Since the latter must be initiated during a menstrual period, it is necessary that it be arranged more-or-less immediately - well in advance of the proposed "event".

There is no doubt that people misuse condoms, most commonly by putting them in the wrong place - usually the drawer, whilst having sex. They are shall we say *helpful* in providing contraception, but more important in the spread of STDs. The "pill" on the other hand, or *much* better, Implanon® which is so close to 100% effective, is what one should use if one really does not want to become pregnant.

The actual need for a condom when the girl is using the pill, is not so much in regard to STDs which if we could believe that both he and the girl are virgins, would of course be no risk at all, but the unfortunate matter that "you can't trust anyone"! Whether he believes it or not, he needs to use the condom in case she does not take the pill, does not take it correctly, or is untruthful about this - or any other - matter. And for that reason, the advice must be on every occasion - they need to use both forms of contraception. (An Implanon® implant BTW, can be felt in the arm, and is virtually impossible to fake!)
