I don't think I've ever heard of bathing so soon.
> and I've been reading posts on here and it seems like most people leave the bandages on for at least 3 or 4 days, usually up to a week after the operation. Am I taking mine off too soon??
I would imagine so.
>Bear in mind also that my doctor didn't require me to shedule a follow-up or anything where he would check the wound/bandages - he just said I should see him in 6 weeks. Should I just follow the instructions they gave me?
No. You have been treated very poorly. They should have arranged a follow up, if not to check that everything is okay, then at the very least to check the stitches are all out. Before bathing I would strongly suggest you get a second opinion on your post-op instructions (or lack of them). I've been contributing at this forum for around 3 years and cannot recall any instance of anyone saying about bathing the next day. From my own post-surgery experience it was about 5 days before I took a bath.
Good luck.
