Hi there. I got circumsized yeserday. I am in surprisngly little pain. The glans is sore and sensitive and too much movement does irritate it a bit, but I can't say I'm in agony or anything.
The one thing that is concerning me is the sight of my penis. The underside of the glans is quite swollen and bloody. It was bleeding a bit when I got home from my operation but it's better today. However, the whole thing still looks pretty ugly.
The dressing I was given wasn't that substantial. Some gauze was taped above my penis (over my pubic hair) so that it hung over and covered the penis, but the penis itself wasn't wrapped up. My penis is quite small (not tiny, just a bit
smaller than average) so I wonder if that's why it wasn't wrapped up (if this even the usual thing done - I'm not sure).A nurse told me I could have a bath the day after the op(today). Is this a good idea? Seeing as the penis isn't covered fully and it doesn't hurt too much I assumed it would be OK but I read on here that it's not usually recommended.
The thing is, there's quite a lot of dried blood and it looks a bit nasty so I thought a bath might clean it up a little and help me assess the damage more.
I wasn't booked in for a check up. They just said to contact the hospital if I notice anything's wrong. The thing is, it's hard to know whether my penis is ok or not. Obviously I know to expect a bit of blood and swelling (which I've got) but how do I know whether everythings healing normally or not?
Do you think I should get an appoitment so I can have it checked or leave it a bit and see what happens? Is the healing process going to be endangered?
Thanks in advance,
Sam
