As an answer to: Confusion about Frenuloplasty written by Nick at 18 Dec 2004 06:07:48:

>He then drew a sketch of the glans and the frenulum. He drew lines at the tip and the bottom of the frenulum where the cuts are going to be done and said the frenulum in between those cuts is removed. He said if he just cuts it and leaves it there it will hang down like a loose piece of skin. ...... Articles claim the frenulum is “elongated” and no tissue is removed, doctor says the whole thing is cut and it’s gone. Contradiction.

Nick, send me your E-mail address on my (harmen55) hotmail account and I’ll give you some extra information to assure you, that what my site reports is true. What your doctor tells you seems to me a bit peculiar. As far as I know the frenulum is commonly cut on some places and stitched crosswise, without removing a part of the tissue. Sometimes the string is cut lengthwise and stitched otherwise. The examples I saw didn’t have any superfluous skin tissue and nothing was removed. If a frenulum is tight obviously there will not be too much skin soon. When the penis gets erect you need all that skin to my opinion. But all cases are different and there are a lot of techniques. The number of cuts depends on the tightness of the frenulum and the method: sometimes 2 cuts are sufficient and in other cases 8 or more stitches are placed. If a surgeon has good experiences with a certain method, he will have some preference for it.
