Ugly is the right term for a just circumcised penis for the first several days. Sometimes for a couple of weeks. From what you say and my personal experience you are doing OK. Particullary if the bleeding has stopped.I would wait at least 48 hours before showering. (I shower don't like baths.) The first two days I showered with a Ziplock bag around my penis to keep it dry. It is pretty much your call.
