If the head of the penis is not getting any blood flow, I certainly suggest you release the skin back to its normal position. The reason is because you could possible damage the nerve endings and that is a real problem. I too retracted my skin over the corona and kept it there for hours, but then it became all wrinklie and dark. I then went on the net and discovered that it can cause permenant damage and retracted it quick. It is called paraphimosis.
But retracting for a little bit and releaseing is a good practice as it streches the skin and eventually it will not block blood flow.
