Yeah, a couple of days after surgery you could probably tell. You may still have a bandage on, depending on your doctor's instructions, and my bandage was very thick. One of the big factors in recovery though is whether or not you have been able to pull back your foreskin and expose the glans enough so that it is no longer super-sensitive. My glans had never been exposed so I was still walking uneasily into the third week (I had a big improvement with walking and mobility late in my third week) since it was uncomfortable for the head to touch underwear etc. If you have a fully-functioning foreskin though, you shouldn't have too many problems. There is basically no actual pain at all.
