Smegma can't be that old. Perhaps you didn't notice it before you got cut? I think regular shower water should be able to clean it, and if it's that sticky just give it a couple of days. Once it's clean if new smegma accumulates it should be easier to clean, like at once.
Since you state you can now shower without discomfort your glans has probably become more durable to outside stimulation. I'm thinking of a partial cut too, can you please describe the difference in general and especially in masturbation and intercourse compared to before your circumcision?
