Chronology: 12 yrs intact covered, 30 yrs. intact skinned back, 38 years partial circ. The circ partly just to finish the job and to eliminate the occassional roll forward. It took me about a week to be able to wear the foreskin in either position- it was an ideal working foreskin. I never had oversensitivity other than the first time it was exposed during a bath by parents for cleaning- that hurt a bit.

The circ removed about the amount you mention from the upperside tapering to near none on the lower as I wanted to leave the sensitive area there. If it were done today more would have come off the lower as I don't believe the sensing for sexual fun and orgasm comes from the surface of the skin but from beneath it. There may be nerve endings in the skin but mostly for knowing you're being touched, bump into something, hot or cold, and a non sexual pure tickle.

The default is always to uncovered but when non aroused etc I can have temporary coveage or prolonged if tightened by snugged up jockeys, or in a wet bathing suit. When I first surfed the web I was seeing so many pro intact and even restoration sites that I actually tried covering the glans for 3 months. Within two weeks the glans became moist, pink, shiny, smelly (inspite of 2x daily washings). Also my wifes touch during foreplay felt unpleasant due to the surface sensitivity. I ended the experiment and will wear it bare the rest of my life.

Really no way to guess for sure but I think that with some increase in exposure the oversensitivity may become manageable. What might work would be to wrap with cloth or flexible cloth bandage with tape or whatever to prevent unravelling on the retracted skin, and you could attach minor padding to the glans area to reduce discomfort. Not everyone can achieve permanent retraction due to things like length of foreskin, looseness, lack of glans flare (which can actually develop some when not covered and hold the skin back). There are little if any disadvantages to going skinned back.

> I'm still not decided to a partial cut though it's good to hear that results are pleasing given that it comes from someone who is circumcised (and therefore should know).

The only thing about a partial rather than complete is that I don't know if the result would bring enough exposure to alleviate your oversensitivity. I doubt my experience in having complete "bareness" from so little removal would be typical. But, OTOH having the end of a foreskin loosened by a partial would provide aeration.

I hope you find what's best for you.
