>>1) post op what are the most comfortable to wear Boxers or Pants?
This will depend on your level of glans exposure before the op. If you have never in living memory seen the head of your penis (as was the case with me), then your glans will be unbearably sensitive after the op. If this is the case, I would not recommend boxers (ie. the loose satin ones). I wore tight hipster briefs which minimised movement and this was good. There seems to be somthing about he material or texture of boxers that is more difficult for the glans to adjust to because I was experiencing almost no discomfort with the briefs into the third week, whereas I have only now in the last week (7-8 weeks) been able to wear boxers without any problems. They are just more "velvety", the glans tends to stick to them a bit, it just feels a bit funny for a while.
>>2) Will I be able to wash my penis early after or will I have to cover it when showering? - What’s the best cover to use???You won't be able to firectly hit it with shower water. Ask your doctor about how to best clean it - he will probably recommend baths for the first week or so and this is a good idea. After that, slowly get accustomed to the shower water - start off by not facing the nozzle and just letting some water run down over the area gently. Even this will be difficult at first. Gradually, you will be able to have a more normal shower where you aren't anxious about water hitting it. It's a personal thing, you will know when you are feeling more confident - probably when you can walk around again easily. At 7-8 weeks, I can shower now without any problems whatsoever and blast the bastard with water if I want to!
>>3) Sleeping - I currently sleep in my boxers will this still be feasible? No. Probably not feasible, depending again on exposure of glans previously. I only started sleeping with boxers again last week. Tight briefs might also help to limit night time erections - I suspect maybe that contributed to me having no problems with these at all.
>>4) Night time erections...I’m always getting these and certainly morning ones surely this will be incredibly painful is there anything that can be done?
Again, I was lucky and didn't experience any but from what I've read on this board and others, there's nothing that can be done! Just take comfort in the knowledge that it seems to subside after a week or so for people who do have problems in this regard.
>>5) Will I be mobile for the first few days or will I be stuck in bed???
Again, depends on previous glans exposure. You won't feel much (if any) actual post-op pain from the wound or anything like that, it will just be the glans sensitivity. If it is sensitive, then you will be walking very gingerly, if at all - I would suggest just lying on your bed....it's boring I know, but you won't want to move!
>>6) What would you say is the average recovery time?
I would say a couple of weeks to feel pretty okay - I had huge improvement in the third week in terms of being able to move around freely (still with a little discomfort sometimes though). I went to work after 2 weeks and that was fine - I would recommend taking 2 weeks off if you have that luxury as I did, being a student on holidays. Full recovery is another matter - I have read that things can still be settling down after a year! I would say you should have a good idea of the finished product at a month, even though you probably won't be able to use it as you want! Doctors telling you that you will be having sex after 3 weeks is rubbish. I could only just masturbate after 3 or 4 weeks, I haven't had sex yet since the op but I'm thinking up to another month to be safe (ie. full healing and no discomfort/anxiousness) - that'sll be 3 months for me, but bear in mind that everyone's different and heals differently.

Hey mate,
I'm in Australia and had a full circ done almost 2 months ago. Mine was under a general, that's just what my surgeon said he always did it with so I went with that. To be honest, I'm glad it was a general, just because I don't like the thought of being awake through it. I didn't need an overnight stay either -My op was at about 1 or 2 in the afternoon I think and I was home at about 6:30 in the evening, feeling not bad at all. I doubt they would keep you overnight unless it was absolutely necessary. Don't listen to the "scary" statistics that Ivan has posted about generals either - sure, consider it if you want but don't place too much stock in them - the bottom line is the likelyhood of any anasthesia complications with a good anesthesia team is very low. Don't worry about it. The only downside to the general might be cost - ie. perhaps increased hospital time charged and a more expensive bill from the anesthetist - I know I was absolutlely slugged by my anesthetist!
As for the "grower" issue, I'm not really sure. I am similar to you in this regard and my cut was I think quite high and fairly loose. By that I mean the corona is sometimes covered when flaccid (especially when I'm squashed in briefs) because the loose skin sort of folds over but there is a reasonable amount of inner foreskin left and the scar (when you pull the skin tight) is a little way down the shaft, rather than at the corona.
I think if you are a "grower" it is maybe better to get it a bit looser or moderate as you say you are getting it, rather than tight. My erections are not at all uncomfortable - I think because of the bit of flexible skin. Bear in mind also (and I have limited experince with this so far) that a slightly looser cut may assist masturbation because you have some skin movement on the shaft. I have found this helpful so far, even though when I get erect (at least at first), the inner foreskin is a little "bunched up" and it doesn't look that great.
As for the painful erections, I must have been lucky because I didn't even experience one and I slept well from the first night of the op. It sounds like I got away easy in that regard :)) I don't think though that your size or expansion would affect this. From what I've read the pain either comes from the tighness of the cut before the skin has had a chance to stretch, or the pulling of the stiches.
