Dear all,
Thanks for your replys, and thanks to the Brits who understand an NHS waiting list! To clarify, my Circ is recommended on the gounds of severe Phimosis, and increasingly aggresive BXO. I have read many (MANY!) things that I could "try" but without any guarantees - and to be fair, I have tried some with no success. Such is the current pain and discomfort, that for me a Circis a very acceptable solution, and I am not at all concerned about the fact. I have researched fully, and know what I am getting myself into, and it is certainly NOT for cosmetic reasons. Thanks for the advice - I intend to try underpants, but not tight ones, have booked two weeks off work, and will manage the pain and erections as and when they occur. When I had my Frenuloplasty in April, the pain with erections was quite bad, but I took a nurses advice, and gave the ole fella a firm tap with a pencil, and it always seemed to work - dont think I will try that trick with a circ though! With my Frenuloplasty, I was advised to bath and retract daily. I found this to be wrong - BIG time. This process basically, helped keep the area moist, and what with that and stretching on them to retract, the stictches gave out within a week, landing me in Hospital with a major bleed. The bleed was severe, and I lost 2 Pints of blood - ended up on a drip in an ambulance in the middle of the night - frightened my Wife half to death! This is my biggest fear now - and the only one that really worries me. It is inconcievable to me, even though I understand the risks (thanks Ivan) that I wouldnt wake up. Taking all comments on board, I will continue to seek a high and moderate cut - it is important to me that I retain as much inner foreskin as possible, however, the Phimosis starts quite close to the glans, so we will have to see how much I can keep. I certainly do not want any bunching up behind the glans when flaccid, so will not want it too loose - and masterbation is importantto to my Wife and I, and so hopefully, with a moderate cut, there will be enough mobility left for a reasonable action. I suspect the scar will be about a third - halfway down the shaft - that is OK. Yes, 11th May is a long way off, especially as I made a mistake and its the 11th March! That,s 6 weeks and two days actually, but who's counting?! Pre-op suggested an 0730 operation, lasting no more than 40 mins - up to 2 hours post op recovery, and if no probs, home by mid afternoon. I will let you all know what happens and how I get on.........thanks again for all your help and advice - this web site has been my saviour many times - thanks to all!
