Tight frenulum...going under the knife in 3 weeks Questions

Hello all,

My name is jason, i'm 18 and i discovered i had something wrong with my penis about two years ago. At first i thought it was just because i wasnt circed, but then i realized i had tight forskin...or so i thought. Went to a doc, he told me i absolutely NEEDED a circ. Went and got a 2nd opinion from a more experienced doctor, who told me that a circ was definitely not needed. Instead he pulled the skin over my head for the first time in my life, and boy did it hurt, not to mention the loads of smegma just under the head. I cleaned it up, and streched like the doc said, and it kinda worked. But the frenulum is completely immpossible to strech, and if i try it just gets thicker and irritated.

PRESENT situation: i am able to retract the forskin while flacid, but defenitely not while erect. I have retracted it while erect once, but it was quite painful, and the forskin still seemed to bunch up right under the head. My frenulum is quite sensitive, and it extends all the way to the tip of my penis, making the tip look very red all the time, which always "Wow"s the docs. Masterbating or even simply washing with soap is painful to my frenulum and the tip of the penis. Sex is currently out of the question, and my girlfriend understands the situation. I undergo a frenuloplasty (of frenulectamy) under local in 3 weeks.

Question: Will this procedure solve my problems and allow me to have sex, masterbate, and wash without pain? IS there another solution besides streching? Are there any cons in getting a frenuloplasty instead of a partial or full circ? Has anyone had just a frenuloplasty done, that can throw some wisdom or advice my way?
