in my opinion, there's always a possibility of infection (in the initial 2 weeks after circumcision). i suggest you go back to the urologsist/doctor who performed the circumcision (not to be overly worried though - only he/she knows what was exactly done in the procedure. it has been 6 weeks since the procedure and i am a proud 27-year old circumcised guy now. during the initial post operative stage i have thought that my recovery from the surgery was totally fine. my immediate follow up with the urologist turn out ok and he said that the chances of infection at that stage was 5%. the stiches and dried blood clod came off and all looked fine. however, 1.5 weeks later i discovered a little lump on the right side of my penis on the circumcision scar. erection was a little painful (probably due to the tight circumcision that i requested for) and later there were puss in the lump. i quickly went back to the urologist who then confirmed that there was a little infection in the suture materials that he buried underneath that particular part of the circumcision scar. he cleaned my penis and made a small (very small) incision on the lump and in just a matter of seconds everthing was sorted out.
