>hello, as many of you may know, i had a frenuloplasty about 4 weeks ago. I was told these stiches have a 10-14 day life. But i still have 3-4 stiches still there (27 days later), and one of them is extreamly painful when touched, and has a white ring around it where it comes out of the skin.
>Question: my appointment with the urologist is in 2 weeks, should i wait it out? OR sould i seek immediate attention to get these removed before they cause stich tunnels??? taking them out myself would be painful, and i dont think i can do it, unless i took a lot of the codeine i was perscribed : P .

There is no reason not to remove them at this point if you can get to them carefully with a sharp scissors or even a craft knife ( they are wonderfully sharp and pointy, but keep the blade edge away from the skin). Then removing the remaining part is like pulling an exposed splinter. When you cut, try to leave a graspable remnant for easier tweezing. A bit of Neosporin afterward will help prevent infection and will be soothing.
