>other people in the past have told me that taking stiches out is not painful. But in my case, the 2 stiches are very painfull when tuged on. Yet again, if the doc does it, it probably wont be less painfull. So i think i'll do it myself, are tweezers okay? anything else i should know before doing this? The wound looks very healed, not painful but sensitive, and i find it strange that the stiches cause a substantial amount of pain (when tugged on).
>Only 2 stiches remain (at least i can only see 2). BUT, is it possible that other stiches have only disolved in the exposed ends, and that there can still be stich fragments beneath the skin that hasnt dissolved? Would this even be a problem?

>(P.S. can anyone comment on the white ring around the base of one of the stiches (where it enters the skin). I tried washing it off, but it wont come off. Either the skin itself is this color, or...i dunno, i'm confused as to what this is. This is the most painful stich, can it be an infection? If so, should pulling the stich out help this infection go away, or make it worse? )They hurt when tugged on because they make a loop through your flesh - cut first, then tweeze them so they will slide out like a splinter. They dissolve in the environment of the body's interior, not out in the air - if the olothers have gone, it's because the interior part has dissolved. The white ring is probably just new skin, but it may be infection. Either way, removing the stitches would help it heal, as it avoids frequent small re-injuries. If there is pus, gently squeeze it out and apply a tiny bit of Neosporin or something like that.
