You do need to be an adult (by definition, it depends on which country you are in) to have it done without consent.
It is absolutely stupid for you to presume that you will have an easy time getting through the two weeks of recovery without the presence of somebody, you will also need a viable form of transportation to and from the place of the surgery. In addition to various medical supplies such as dressings and ointments to prevent infections which you will need for several weeks. It is illegal to drive within twenty four hours of being administered anesthetic.
I would also advise before you've totally self-diagnosed yourself that you visit your family doctor. He will be able to agree or disagree with you and recommend the appropriate form of treatment. Circumcision may not be the only mean of resolution. And, just the same, you have not taken my advice yet of asking for a betamethasone prescription. Betamethasone is a steroid, meaning it will aide in the expansion of the skin by stretching, it is meant for the purpose of scar tissues and skin malfunction. I would advise that you at least try this for a few months before you've drawn a final conclusion that surgery is necessary. For some people it will work, for others it does not, I was one of the less fortunate.
Your self-consciousness is not going to be your friend. Right now, you may tell yourself that you can do this alone and that you fear unacceptance and criticism from your parents. Being eighteen years of age myself I can say that you are going to have to deal with the trauma of them knowing. It is not going to hurt you and I'd imagine like any parent would they will support you. It isn't always a perfect world.
If it is deemed necessary it will likely be put through your family's health plan and paid by insurance. Otherwise, depending on where you live, it can be extremely expensive and up in the $1000-$1500 range.
Over something so minor, your parents should be your biggest supporters. Your mother gave birth to you, she saw your penis long before you ever did, don't be so shallow!
>I have realised my phimotic ring is now past the stage of being cured by stretching. Over the past few years I have tried the stretching and I obviously didn't do it right, as I have built up scar tissue making it impossible to stretch.
>So my question is what do I need to do to have a circumcision? I really need this answered and not be told to keep stretching, as this doesn't work. I am 17, I gather you need to be 18 to not have to get your parents consent? I am 18 in a month so this isn't a problem. So what do I need to do? I presume go to the doctors first, then I will get on the waiting list? How much is it? How long will I need to wait?
>I don't have any experience with it so any info is appreciated.
>Many thanks.
