Hi Andy,

Hadn't realised you replied here so sorry for not getting back sooner. Also didn't realise you were having a general but is sounds like that was OK for you. Sorry you had to lose most of the inner foreskin but if it was phimotic there was little choice in that. As long as there is some left you should be in good shape.

Re the shrinkage of the 'ole fella' - I'd say that you are probably more of a grower than a shower - meaning that your penis expands a lot on erection. This probably means that the bulk of your penile tissue lies within your body cavity in repose. On erection, it pops out. Even when flaccid, my penis hangs outside of my body cavity so there is no real bunching of skin on the shaft. Unfortunately, all men are NOT crearted equal in this respect and for guys who are growers, it is not always possible for their circumcisions to be as tight when they are flaccid. I have a friend who went to have his tightened up just three days ago and his doc told him there was not much more skin he could remove for his erections to be comfortable.

The 'ole fella' is probably still a bit traumatised by what's been done to him so give him a couple of weeks to start feeling himself. I noticed that I could not get very full erections with the stitches in - they (the erections) didn't seem to extend all the way to the head for a good few weeks. This is a kind of protection mechanism that the body employs to prevent itself from damage. Your brain at a subconscious level is aware of what's taken place and has its own way of protecting you. It will soon be fine and your 'ole man' will once again be as you knew him - just without that tight foreskin.

I'm so glad I told you about the possibility of bleeding and the need to take precautionary measures against that. Imagine what it would have been like if you did not have dressings that could cope with this eventuality.

Keep us posted.

Damian
