The blister is a side effect of the swelling, which is simply a build up of fluids. This is a natural effect of the healing process and you should keep it covered to avoid infection. It will take a few days but you will find things drying out and scabbing off, and everything will soon return to normal.
Your doctor seems like an odd duck.
>Man, today I woke up and the first thing I did was to go to the bathroom. When I took my underware off I thought that my ole fella had another head growing!
>There was a very round blister (about half an inch big) that looked just like a blister when you burn your skin. The blister was almost coming out of the bandage on the right side of the glans pretty close to the tip of the penis. It scared the crap out of me so I called my doctor's answering service immediately.
>The doc called me back and said that it is probably because of the tight bandage and friction. He told me just live it alone and to take off the bandage.
>So I took off the bandage took a shower, being very careful not to get my penis wet, and cleaned the area with warm water. I temporarely wraped the penis with a thin layer of gauze (for comfort), went right back to bed and asked my wife to get the polysporin cream, some more gauze (just in case), and some other anti-septic product just to have it handy. Once my wife comes back I will clean the area a little bit more with warm water and apply the polysporin cream.
>I will also take off the temporary gauze, let it breathe and get some rest!
>Besides the ugly half-inch blister on the right side of my glans everything else looks pretty good. The swelling aint that bad but there was a little bleeding (a drop of blood) coming from one of the stitches.
>Hopefully this blister will not get any bigger and hopefully it will go back to normal soon. :-)
>Let me know if anybody had a similar experience. Hopefully this is not a first. :-)
>Thanks for all the help!

>ps. I woke up this morning with my cat jumping on my crotch. I almost killed the bastard!!!
