It keeps stuff off the glans, whatever may come by. Just as eyelids keep stuf out of the eye, and open up as needed.

Just the opposite - it is an insane delusion fostered by those seeking to justify body mutilation to claim that removing the protective covering keeps something cleaner. You seem to think that your glans is kept cleaner by letting it rub constantly against your 'underwear skids' or whatever else might be about there, and that you have no need for a daily cleaning (which by the way, should for all genitals be by a clean water rinse). I think you should annouce to your next partner that you think you don't need to wash because your glans is flopping around unprotected in your drawers all the time.
