I am one of those chaps who believes that circumcision is the only sure cure for phimosis. Of course if the phimosis is mild I am all for exploring the idea of stretching. But with the kind of severe tightness that most guys come on here to seek advice about, there is little point in engaging in lengthy and painful stretching exercises which can make the problem worse.
Dave, you're now facing another surgery when a circumcision would have fixed your problem 8 months ago. Anyone who has BXO as a consequence of phimosis should not hesitate to have a circumcision. BXO can hadrly be considered a normal condition and as such requires extra attention. Circumcision is NOT painful. There can be complications like swelling, bleeding and tenderness but these completely pass within two weeks. From what I understand, stretching can take months to produce any result. Just not an equal trade off if you ask me.
I would say there is considerable discomfort during the first two weeks but this is by no means unbearable and the knowledge that your problems are being fixed permanently must make it worthwhile. Just my opinions here. All the best with it.
