Before you try the stretching excersizes speak to the specialist your Doctor is referring you to. He's a qualified individual who will be able make an assessment base on the examination. Also, ask him about stretching and the potential gains and consequences too, while you are there.

Try not to get caught up in the all the debate and crap that happen on this forum.
