>OK, that's the criterion for fraenulum breve all right, but you did refer to the foreskin becoming "stuck" behind the glans, which indicates some tightness of the foreskin as well, so stretching the foreskin opening may also help it a lot. And the suggestion you will note made further down in the main page (in many places, actually), of using a plastic film canister to stretch the foreskin open, could also be used to apply continuous pressure to the fraenulum if the foreskin on the underneath is taped onto it. Do you follow this?Jim wrote:
>I agree with your diagnosis. Try the stretching technique in the shower. When the skin is good and warm, pull back tightly and hold it there. You'll need to be really persistant, but it will give. The more you do it, the better the results. A friend of mine found acceptible results within about four months.AJ wrote:

Also, ask him about stretching and the potential gains and consequences too, while you are there.Yes, I see what you mean. I think there is a consensus here, even if you don't all share exactly the same view. I'll ask the specialist about the frenulum stretching exercises before I do anything.
Re. the foreskin being too tight, on 2nd second thoughts (now that I'm able to explore the issue properly), and after a self-test yesterday, I think this might have been a red herring. It wasn't easy to figure it out in any detail before reading your replies.
What happens - again, I really have no idea whether this is normal or not - is that up to 70% of a full erection, it works fine; then the non-moving skin right under the edge of the corona(? - the rim of the glans) gets progressively tighter, and the glans near the corona turns purple, becoming tender and faintly aching like a wound; but the foreskin itself isn't tight. At 80-90% the glans becomes dry and desensitised, and the frenulum reaches a point where it suddenly screams with pain. I have never taken it past this point. The foreskin can still be pulled back over glans to relieve the tension, although it is dry + sticky and takes some awkward (and frantic!) twiddling. I think that maybe the short frenulum is pulling on the skin just under the corona (not the foreskin), turning it into a tight ring as the penis gets harder. Does this make sense?
(Many thanks, PaulB, for your other advice aswell.)
