Note the long and complex bit that makes the hyperlink - everything from the "a href" part to the "/a" and of course including the "greater" and "less" signs, has three parts. The "markup" is all the incantations, the URL is what you posted before inside the quotes, and the "text" is the bit between the "greater" and "less".
I suggest you copy the whole bang lot (that is, just the hyperlink with its markup, out of the "Text:" box), or perhaps this template: text somewhere so you can paste it in, and put in your own URL and text whenever you need to. Note that the URL should always be in quotes and may not contain spaces, but the text can have spaces if you want.
You can also be lazy and copy what AJ does insofar as putting the URL and its description in the "Your homepage-url:" and "Title of the link:" boxes below, so it comes out like this:
