As an answer to: Dealing with phimosis and frenulum problems written by John at 01 Feb 2002 07:54:12:

The frenulum is actually designed to bend the head forward. During hererosexual intercourse the penis is, unlike the popular conception of a 'straight' erection, bent into the shape of a boomerang and the head is bent forward to fire the semen in the right direction. So that is quite normal. That area of the penis is loaded with nerves because that is the trigger that tells you when to fire. We rarely advise cuting the frenulum, but in any event it is not something to do yourself. We have seen complications, especially twisting of the glans, in such cases. If you want to have it done, you really must see a surgeon. It is a simple procedure that take about ten minutes and involves a little cutt and te wound being cauterised. Its not how to do it that's important, it's where. Does that help? PaulB, anything to add?
