As an answer to: Penile tears written by Paul B. at 14 Feb 2002 11:32:14:

Again, I appreciate the response. I had some pain on the left side of my penis for about a year prior to the "incident". My testicles usually hung at the same level before this. I have no idea either. Now they both hang much lower and the left one hangs even lower.

I was masterbating "normally". It's funny how the question I keep getting from the docs is "what the hell were you doing?" I wasn't doing anything abnormal or crazy. Just on my back. As I was orgasming, I felt a pop on the left side near the base of the penis. I got up to investigate and everything felt numb. The next morning I check again and found it was still numb and almost impossible to get an erection. A week later when I tried again, I was able to get a semi-erection that bent a bit to the left. I went to the emergency room, where they didn't suspect a fracture because there was no bruising. They referred me a urology clinic at another hospital. About a month later, the sensation started to return, so I assumed it would be ok.

Now it's been about four months and it has improved somewhat. I am able to get an erection, but only through physical manipulation, but it goes away almost immediately when the manipulation stops. The sensation is better, but again, not what it used to be. I have not tried to have sex since it happened. I know there is a psychological element to that, but I don't want to have to use my hand to get an erection and then try to have sex with a first time partner, it's all a bit embarrassing.

Also, it almost seems that I have more skin on my penis than before. The skin seems much looser, almost like I have a foreskin if that makes any sense. And the penis itself doesn't seem as it was before. It feels rubbery, even when flacid. It seems very flacid (when not erect)kind of like there's something missing that used to be there.

I've been to a regular doctor since who's ran some blood work, and my free testosterone level was 220. He said that was a bit low and could be the reason for the absence of nocturnal erections. Could this be contributing to the problem? I'm only 30 years old, so this whole ordeal has been pretty frustrating, saddening to say the least. I'm scheduled to return to the urologist in a few weeks. What can I ask him to do? Seems like whenever I go I kind of get a shrug and an "I don't know what else I can do."

I don't really know what else I can do. Any thoughts? Thanks again for the time.
