Must be an idiosyncratic response to the anaesthetic. Surprising, since a circ only requires light anaesthesia and not intubation or a muscle relaxant, but I daresay it happens. Can't speak from personal experience of actually having an anaesthetic I'm afraid!

You've obviously not had an operation before. "Weeping" in the first few days is par for the course, especially where you have such loose, mobile skin.

It's supposed to "suck out" a bit of the swelling, or at least, not let the water in to increase the swelling. In fact, to do this however, it would have to have as much salt as seawater, ant that's a lot! Anyway, it helps keep the scabs soft though you will find they still harden and become uncomfortable again as you dry out from the bath.
