>>So I got circed yesterday, I am really not in pain down there but my body, from my neck down to my lower back feels bagged... like I went a couple rounds with Mike Tyson... all the muscles are sore.. is that normal after a surgery?
>Sorry I can't answer that in terms of the circ, I had a local for my partial circ. But I've had surgery before and been put "under", and felt a bit funky afterwards. However, if you still funky and worried about it - speak to a Doctor, who'll be able to put your mind at ease.
>> It's an awkard thing to dress and the dressing doesn't seem to want to stay on that well but my doctor didn't seem too concern with it...
>You'd think that putting a dressing on is easy, right? Well, I did. But I was wrong! What I found useful was to get that tape-stuff you use for dressings, but one that comes on a dispenser where you tear it off when you pull on it. That way you don't have to worry about cutting tape. Other than that the only thing that I did was to try and keep as much pubic hair out the way towards the base of the penis and put the tape there. I'd cut the odd pube or two if they got under the tape, so they would'nt pull.
>>I am on anti-biotics, and my doc told me to use some polysporin around the stiching.
>I was on anti-biotics too, and when my dressing came off (the end of the first week) I was given an anti-biotic power to put over the wound.
>>My main concern and question is I seem to notice after I go to the washroom that I have some bleeding around where the frenulum was... a cople drops here and there... and when I change my gauze again.. a few drops of blood.
>Bloods normal. I was worried about that too, but it's nothing to worry about. Obviously, if you it were literally pouring blood out, get it checked by your Doctor.
>>I was told come tommorow to start taking luke warm baths with salt twice a day.. whats the deal with that? what does the salt do??
>I had to do the salt bath thing too. I'm told that it keeps the word clean.
>Anyway, if you have any question you want to ask that I might be able to help answer don't hesitate to drop me an e-mail or a message here. I also made a Circ Faq up that might have some answers about post operative care etc.
>Thanks

AJ's given you the straight story here. If you follow true to form there shouldn't be too much pain (maybe a little soreness), but it probably will take about a month before you get back to feeling totally normal again (you will!). It should be possible to get rid of the dressings within a few days -- since you're seeing the doc he can steer you aright on this -- and after that it will just take a while for the scab to heal. Of course the stitches will need to come out when the doc says they should, and healing can then proceed apace. A good bit of patience is needed to see yourself through this, but after you've healed you'll forget the hassle. It may be that the 'heavy' feeling you're having comes from the pudendal nerve; I had an occasional feeling of wanting to evacuate the bowels when I'd already finished that task, but since the pudendal branches out into the colon as well as the penis, you may be feeling its protests as a sense of heaviness. Never fear, this too shall pass! And when it's over you'll have NO PROBLEMS with (non-existent) foreskin or frenulum, and, more positively, you'll have a penis that is clean 24/7 and ready for any use to which you want to put it (including humankind's favorite indoor sport!). Best wishes, and keep your cool.
