>Greg, I can't recall having seen these things in any hardware store. In what department are they displayed? Also curious if you are in the US, and, if so, what merchant handles them?

Ive seen them in the USA : DO IT centers, Lowes , Home Depot. They are usually in the specialty fasteners section they look like a wine bottle corks but they are tapered and made of rubber.
