This is normal, as Paul B says. Have a look at http://www.cirp.org/library/normal/ for good information on this and loads of references. You might try suggesting - diplomatically if you feel inclined -that your son's physician have a look at this too. You know, "Hey, I found some stuff on the web about this. It was very interesting. I'll give you the URL."

Personally, I don't know that I'd incline to diplomacy at all. I'd tell the phyisican his diagnosis was inaccurate, and if he didn't back down, I'd file a complaint with his Medical Association.

But, I guess diplomacy is usually best, escpecially as you don't want this physician recommending that your son be circumcised. If this recommendation were made, I'd personally want to prevent it, though it doesn't sound as if things have come to quite this pass. Hopefully they won't.
