>We're not fighting about you as such, Jakey-14. We have disagreements as to what we think is the best way forward for you. Jim is steadfast member of the anti-circumcision community and as a side-effect of that he does not like or trust Doctors. He thinks that they're in practice for money only and are not qualified enough to educate their patients about the treatments available for solving this problme. He also does not like young people (like yourself) to discuss your concerns with your parents or a Doctor (for his own reasons).
>ThanksAJ, you just plain don't have good sense. You don't know anything of the kind, do you? You're not aware that I have entrusted my life on the operating table to physicians not fewer than seven times. Would I not have trusted them? I not only trusted them, but also all of the assistant surgeons, the nurses, the anesthetists, and everyone who supplied the various equipment and supplies. My cousin was a physician and a person I greatly admired. I have personal friends who are physicians.
You are taking things out of context, trying to distort the truth. In this particular situation, this boy would be ill advised to seek counsel from either a parent or a physician without knowing what their stance on the subject might be in light of the fact that he can solve his own problem. Were he to confide in the wrong person, he could lose an important part of his sexual organ, thus leaving him with less than the best for a lifetime. Is that being selfish or selfless? In the case that this young man solves his problem on his own and saves his foreskin, doesn't he win? My satisfaction is just in knowing that he has reached a goal. What is your motive in trying to get him to a surgeon just as fast as possible? Your alternative solution means that he loses. Do you
have something to gain by knowing that some stranger has taken his penis and carved it up? Now to me, that looks very questionable.
