It would be more useful to describe what you actually do. (;-)
As for the redness, you have presumably some low-grade infection, possibly related to retained suture material. This would be all the more likely if it is in one particular spot rather than all around. There is really no specific treatment unless it is particularly sore in one area in which case antibiotics may help and any evident stitch material would need to be removed.
Otherwise the best I can suggest is massaging in some lanolin or other emollient ointment, possibly hydrocortisone.
