I'm not sure what exposure to air will achieve other than dessication. This is an area of tissue that needs to be 'humid', even if not noticeably so. (I also have a vision of you walking around the town with your bits hanging out in the fresh air, and predict you will be arrested before too long, thus putting an end to this line of therapy!)

To be serious, the sort of exposure that will be be necessary to reduce the sensitivity is exposure to abrasion, an uncomfortable process at the very least. If you can stomach it, and it's a sensation that goes beyond discomfort and will at times make your toes wriggle and your insides heave, you should try to keep your foreskin retracted while your penis is held steady within close-fitting underwear; this way, you'll have constant and direct contact without to-and-fro movement, so the discomfort will be lessened. I'm not sure how long the process will take, but it might be two weeks to a month -- in the time-honoured phrase of old-fashioned newsgroups, however, your mileage may vary.
