>suggest...optimal foreskin functioning implies that the prepuce will move back and forth over the glans during sexual intercourse. To have your foreskin remain behind the glans during sex may be a novelty for you, but the true joy in sex comes when you as a couple experience the gliding action associated with a natural penis instead of the chaffing, friction and pounding that will inevitably follow if the foreskin is removed or remains behind the glans.

Unless you, Rood, are circumcised yourself or keep your foreskin retracted and are regularly engaged in sexual activity, you cannot know of any of the inevitable 'chaffing' (I think you mean chafing?), 'friction and pounding' that you are associating with circumcision or a bare glans. I myself am circumcised and have NEVER experienced chafing and/or friction during sexual activity. The 'pounding' may be a matter of interpretation; call it what you will, we (yes, ladies too!) enjoy it. A sexually experienced woman contributing to an Internet magazine wrote of the subtle in-and-outing of Brits and European men and of the vigorous thrusting of Muslims, Jews and Americans, so she obviously recognised differences but did not state a preference.

(A historical sidelight: one branch at least of the Dakotah [Sioux] tribe of native Americans, the Lakotah, kept the foreskin retracted at all times. Their word for the adult penis translates literally as 'foreskin pushed back'.) Also, a substantial portion of the males living in the U.S. in 1951 who had never undergone surgical circumcision were reported to keep their foreskins permanently retracted through their own choice. Nobody forced them to do this, but they evidently chose not to belong to the 'Jackrabbit Club'. (Nowadays, so many American men are circumcised that relatively few have had the option of retraction.) Thus it would appear that the evils of a retracted foreskin may have been somewhat exaggerated.

It is all detailed in Kristen O'Hara's marvelous book, 'Sex As Nature Intended It' c 2001. You would both be well advised to read her account of discovering the difference between intact sex and the abbreviated kind.

>If you look back at the archives, you will see some of the posts i made about my encounter with Phimosis.
>>About 2.5 months ago, i got a prescription for Betnovate Cream(which contains Betamethasone). I started applying the cream, and stretching. within a month and a half, i could retract the penis when limp. I lived 25 full years without being able to retract my foreskin, not even when limp.
>>Today, almost 3 months after stretching, i am now able to retract the foeskin when erect. at first, it felt very tight, but the tightness is gradually reducing, and now I Dont feel much tightness when I retract while erect. I was scared at first that the foreskin would get stuck behind the head if I retract whlie erect, but it didnt happen. During intercourse, the foreskin stays behid the head of the penis. As I said before, there is a slight tight feeling, but over the past 2 weeks, it has gotten less noticeable.
>>I had sex for the first time in my life with a retracted foreskin, and i really cant tell you how much better it feels. Plus my GF thinks I am a better lover because of it. I stretch every day, especially when i am in the shower. I try to keep the foreskin retracted as often as possible, like when i pee or take a showet. Aslo, seeing that I only get to see my girlfriend only 3 times per month, I sometimes masturbate, in which case, i try to keep an erection for maybe 30 minutes, during which time i try to keep the foreskin retracted.
>>The bottom line is that reading the post on this message board has changed my life signifgicantly. I was always scared of doing a circ, so that was never an alternative for me. I didnt know sex was this good until now.
>>Special mention to PaulB, Jim and the other guys who give good advice. You guys have kept me believeing that this can work.
