Hey, Rob: I can sympathize with you, having once been in the same situation: phimosed, and highly embarrassed about going to any Doctor. When I finally worked up the courage to see one, and then another, and yet another after that, I discovered that they all recommended ONLY that I be circumcised. Having no experience or awareness of the possibility of saving my foreskin by stretching, I finally, reluctantly, agreed to the operation. It was the biggest mistake of my life.

Paul B, Jim and Will all give good advice. Based on my own experience I would recommend following the stretching regimen that they recommend. And if the B-cream is to your advantage, screw up your courage and demand it of your GP. It is her duty to help solve a medical problem with the least harm to you.

A final word. The suggestion has been made that some of those urging you to see a "specialist" have other interests than yours at heart. They won't explain why, being gentlemen, but, having no shame, I will. May I suggest that a few individuals have an erotic interest in seeing that you submit to genital mutilation?

And if you need information on the anatomy, function and purpose of the prepuce, check out any site on foreskin anatomy. And read Kristen O'Hara's 'Sex As Nature Intended It' c. 2001. You will be glad that you did.

>Hello I have tight foreskin and have heard that it can be treated by use of betamethasone. However I understand this is prescription only and feel very embarassed going to the doctor to ask for this. Is there any way to get the treatment witout prescription. I am in the UK. If failing that, is there a non prescription treatment that i might be able to try.
