I forgot I posted a message on this board about 'pinhole' phimosis back in January. Given the number of replies I had on this board (i have just checked them) I felt I owe it to give everyone some more details and an update.
I'm 26, and otherwise healthy. Never had any STDs or infections (this is purely to give information, not to suggest that it is likely/not likely). It essentially was only a very small opening to the foreskin and retraction was not possible at all. The funny thing is I can't remember when this occurred -- I believe it must have been at puberty as I can remeber retracting my foreskin as a child, but not since I was a teenager.
Problems caused though were quite minor. Sometime when urinating I had a ballooning effect as the urine couldn't get out quick enough. But masturbation and sex were all fine -- the foreskin was looose enough so when erect it just was held back, still covering the glans. There was no pain and hence I doubt any cuts or abrasions. I believe the urine ballooning effect must have kept it clean as there were no problems there either. Or maybe regular baths.
By now those who pay attention will have noted the past tense. This is because I elected to have a circumcision. I read the arguments on both sides, and believe they have some validity. But I think they are all expressed with far too much vehemence (and may I make a plea here for somewhat more tolerance on this board -- this is a serious issue. But serious issues are not made better by rants). Post-operation I don't think it seems a lot better, but it's definitely not worse and there have been no complications. I'm quite happy with the operation, but I can see why those who a) have a less severe phimosis, b) are more concerned about losing their foreskin, and c) in my case this is important, have more patience, go in for stretchin techniques.
I hope that gives some information.
